My Story

When I was in kindergarten, my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I proudly answered “popsicle girl!” Keep in mind it was the 80’s, in Memphis, TN. I’m pretty sure that, for me back then, this was a huge feminist and progressive stand against the sexist and exclusionary title of “ice-cream man.”

Though that career choice did not stick for long, rethinking conventions has been a hallmark of my 15+ years as an educator, graphic designer, e-learning startup executive, and learning designer.

When developing learning experiences, my clients often (understandably) focus on the information they want to convey. But making learning exciting and engaging requires starting with the learners: who they are, and how they best engage and digest information.

This is my sweet spot. I bring my unconventional thinking, graphic design skills, and educational experience to build entertaining learning experiences that stick. To me, turning information into education is just like one big ball of yarn, waiting to be untangled. It is good yarn, worth saving, it just needs some time, energy, patience, and resilience (and maybe an easy-to-follow pattern) to become the sweater dreams are made of.

I yearn to create well designed, well thought out learning experiences and want to help bring that to others - let me untangle that yarn and help you make a beautiful sweater!
